The agricultural sector is facing significant challenges, from the effects of climate change to the urgent need for more efficient and sustainable food production. AGROBOTICS-DITWINS, a European project funded by the INTERREG SUDOE programme, seeks to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and the agricultural field by bringing robotics and digital twins closer to agricultural SMEs across Southern Europe.

Last week, some students from the Bilbao School of Engineering, supervised by ViSens researchers, Itziar Cabanes, Aitziber Mancisidor and César Pérez, won the Technology Award at the SENER-CEA Bot Talent Competition, held in Madrid.

The BilboTiks team formed by Javier Arambarri, Pablo Elustondo, Álvaro Gorczyca, Mario Hermo, Ane Porto and Nagore Toja, obtained successfully results during the different tests of the competition based on the perception, navigation and control of a robot rover (similar to the NASA model). On January 29 and 30, some researchers from ViSens group, Itziar Cabanes and Patrick Vermander, participated in the Science for Industry (S4I) in Madrid.
